Shri Nityanand Swami Ji was the first recipient of 'The Clean Politician Award,' an honor bestowed by the Doon Citizen Council in recognition of his contributions to the betterment of the community through his political efforts and his spotless record. Despite serving as the Chief Minister, he chose to continue living in his personal home and graciously declined all grants, such as a bungalow for former CMs, staff, and other perks, after vacating the post. This award is conferred annually to encourage and promote honest and responsible political leadership, signifying a commitment to upholding high ethical standards and integrity in politics.

In addition to 'The Clean Politician Award,' notable individuals from various fields are also honored in five different categories for their contributions. Some of the eminent recipients of this award include Ms. Bachendri Pal, the first Indian woman to climb Mt. Everest, Swami Sundaranand, author of "Himalaya: Through the Lens of a Sadhu", Prasoon Joshi, Chairman of Central Board of Film Certification and the writer Ruskin Bond.
